CAPITAL OF FADO & PORTUGUESE CULTURE //

If you’re looking for a vibrant and lively cultural experience from Portugal, the FADO CAPITAL definitely be on your list. This annual festival takes place in Hong Kong and is celebrated from 29th August - 29th November 2024.

 

On the 29th August the Event starts with the SARDINE FESTIVAL at AIA Vitality Park, with a SPECIAL, GLAMOROUS and PREMIUM performance of the - FADO DIVA - CUCA ROSETA - The Festival will have decorations of colourful banners, balloons, and streamers. The celebration is all about having fun and enjoying the company of friends and family. You can expect to dance to traditional Portuguese music, enjoy delicious food, and be showered with basil and plastic hammers. 

Yes, you read that right – plastic hammers. One of the most distinctive features of the festival is the tradition of hitting friends and family members on the head with plastic hammers. While this might sound strange, it’s believed to bring good luck and ward off evil spirits. 

If you’re planning on attending the SARDINE FESTIVAL, be sure to arrive early as the festivities start in the afternoon and continue well into the night.

Fado Capital Hong Kong edition continues with the performance of FADO DIVAS; CARMINHO on the 7th October at City Hall Hong Kong and MARIZA on the 6th November at Xiqu Centre
